Seeking mental health care takes courage, and I'm committed to creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely supported. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with more than 14 years of nursing experience, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to your unique needs. My background in psychiatric nursing, combined with my passion for holistic and integrative psychiatry, allows me to care for the whole person—not just the symptoms. I believe the best treatment begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work closely with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan that may include thoughtful medication management, lifestyle modifications, and evidence-based therapeutic strategies. My goal is to help you better understand your mental health, build resilience, and feel empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, or other mental health concerns, I'm here to meet you where you are. Together, we'll work toward improving your emotional well-being, restoring balance, and helping you live a healthier, more fulfilling life.

First session

During our first session, my priority is getting to know you—not just your symptoms, but your story, your strengths, and what brings you to treatment. We'll discuss your current concerns, personal and medical history, past treatment experiences, lifestyle, and the goals you hope to achieve. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether we're a good fit for working together. I understand that seeking and starting psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, so I strive to make the first appointment as comfortable and conversational as possible. You'll never be rushed or judged. By the end of our session, we'll have a shared understanding of your needs and begin developing a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals, values, and preferences. My hope is that you'll leave feeling heard, supported, and confident about the path forward.

Strengths

What sets my approach apart is my commitment to treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. I recognize that mental health is influenced by many factors—including physical health, lifestyle, relationships, stress, and life experiences—so I take the time to understand the bigger picture before recommending treatment. My goal is to provide care that is thoughtful, individualized, and grounded in the latest evidence while honoring each client's unique experiences and values. I combine my extensive background in psychiatric nursing with an interest in holistic and integrative psychiatry to create treatment plans that are both comprehensive and practical. Whether medication is part of your care or not, I believe in shared decision-making and open communication. I want you to feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in every step of your treatment. Together, we'll focus on finding sustainable strategies that support your mental wellness and help you achieve meaningful, long-term progress.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with clients who are ready to better understand their mental health and take an active role in their well-being. My clients come from all walks of life and may be experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma, life transitions, stress, burnout, or other emotional challenges. Some are seeking support for the first time, while others are looking for a fresh perspective after previous treatment. My ideal client doesn't need to have all the answers or know exactly where to start—they simply need a willingness to explore change and work collaboratively toward their goals. Whether you're looking for symptom relief, greater emotional balance, improved relationships, or a better quality of life, I'll meet you with compassion, respect, and evidence-based guidance. Together, we'll develop a personalized plan that helps you build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move toward lasting mental wellness at a pace that feels right for you. *Please note that I do not regularly prescribe Xanax (alprazolam) which is a benzodiazepine for anxiety treatment.

Treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is one of the approaches I use to help clients create meaningful, lasting change. Rather than telling you what you "should" do, I work alongside you to explore your goals, values, and motivations. Together, we'll identify what's most important to you, address any uncertainty or barriers, and build on your existing strengths to help you move forward with confidence. I believe that lasting change is most successful when it comes from within. Using Motivational Interviewing, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can openly discuss your concerns, explore your options, and make informed decisions about your care. Whether you're managing anxiety or depression, adjusting to a major life transition, improving healthy habits, or navigating treatment decisions, this collaborative approach helps ensure that your care aligns with your personal goals and values.

I am so grateful for the care and attention Jessica gives to our appointment. Her knowledge of medication safety and interference is deep. She is collaborative and open to adjustments based on my goals. It is really hard to find a provider that is as competent, thorough and warm as she is!

I've struggled to find a therapist/medication management provider who actually listens & cares about finding tailored solutions that work. Jessica is the opposite of my past providers. She's deliberate in asking about your experience (instead of solely relying on surveys), very knowledgable, so friendly, and easy to talk to. She's provided detailed explanations, recommendations, and more to holistically support & manage my mental health & ADHD. I HIGHLY recommend Jessica. She truly cares :)
