I'm an LCSW with over 8 years of clinical experience and a background of over 11 years in law enforcement, including crisis intervention as a Victims Advocate. That combination of real-world crisis work and clinical training shapes everything about how I practice. I work with adults and couples navigating sleep problems, relationship challenges, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and suicidal ideation. As a queer therapist of color, I provide affirming care for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC clients, and those in all relationship structures, and I welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life. I bring specialized training in CBT, CBT-Insomnia, EFT for couples, Written Exposure Therapy, and CAMS, alongside a genuine warmth and curiosity about the people I work with. My approach is collaborative and structured when it counts, but always grounded in making sure you feel seen and not just treated. You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out. You just need to be ready to try something different.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, and there's no pressure to have it all figured out before we begin. I'll ask some questions to understand what's bringing you in, what's been hard, and what you're hoping therapy might give you. We'll talk through your history at whatever pace feels comfortable, and I'll be honest with you about how I work and what our sessions might look like so you can decide if it feels like the right fit. I want you to leave that first session feeling like you were actually heard, not just assessed. By the end, we'll start mapping out your goals together and think through what kind of support would be most useful for you. If you've tried therapy before and it didn't quite land, I'd love to hear about that too. Knowing what hasn't worked is just as useful as knowing what has.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring together specialized training in CBT-I for sleep, EFT for couples, Written Exposure Therapy for trauma, Imagery Rehearsal Therapy for nightmares, and CAMS for suicidality, along with over a decade of real-world crisis experience as a Victims Advocate in law enforcement. I've sat with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives, and that experience shapes how I show up in the therapy room. I understand what it actually takes to ask for help, and I don't take that lightly. I also bring a sense of humor to the work, because sometimes laughter is exactly what the moment calls for, and healing doesn't have to be heavy every step of the way. And yes, sometimes things get a little awkward. That's okay too. I'm only human, and so are you. You can bring your whole self into our sessions, the messy, complicated, hard-to-explain parts included, and I'll meet you there with compassion and zero judgment. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Everyone is unique! I tailor my approach to where you are right now, so that the work feels both purposeful and personal. Whether you're dealing with sleep that won't cooperate, a relationship that feels stuck, or pain you've been carrying for a long time, I'm here to help you find a way through it. And if it turns out we're not the right fit, that's okay too. Good therapy starts with the right connection, and if that's not us, I won't just wish you luck. I'll help you find who you're looking for.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a well-researched approach that addresses the thoughts and habits keeping you stuck in cycles of poor sleep, without relying on medication. If you are experiencing insomnia related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, or chronic stress, we'll work together at a pace that fits your lifestyle and capacity. This might include sleep restriction, stimulus control, relaxation techniques, and exploring beliefs about sleep that may actually be making things harder. For clients struggling with nightmares, I also use Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT), an approach that helps you reshape distressing dream content, so it loses its power over your sleep and your nights. I often weave CBT-I together with somatic or trauma-informed approaches, so we're not just addressing your sleep in isolation. We will be looking at what's underneath it too. My goal is for you to walk away with a real understanding of how your sleep works and tools you can count on long after our sessions end.

Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)

The Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) is an approach I use when a client is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a sense of wanting to escape. What makes it different is that we work on it together, openly and collaboratively, rather than it feeling like a one-sided evaluation. As a licensed CAMS Trained Clinician listed on the CAMS Clinician Locator, I'm specifically trained in this approach and committed to meeting you with honesty and care to get at what's really driving the pain.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most well-researched approaches out there, and it's at the core of how I work. Together, we'll look at the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and start shifting the patterns that are keeping you stuck. It's practical, collaborative, and focused on giving you tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) is a focused, structured approach that looks at how your relationships and life circumstances affect how you're feeling. If you're navigating grief, a major life transition, conflict in a relationship, or a shift in your sense of who you are, IPT gives us a clear framework for working through it together. Many people find it especially helpful when life changes have left them feeling disconnected or overwhelmed.

Couples Counseling

Working with couples is one of my passions, and I draw on two well-researched approaches to help partners find their way back to each other. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples helps you identify the underlying emotional needs and negative cycles that keep you stuck in the same arguments, so you can build a more secure and connected bond. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Couples when it's helpful to take a closer look at the patterns of thinking and behavior that are creating distance or conflict between you. Together, we'll work toward a relationship that feels safer, more understood, and more sustainable for both of you.
