New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping adults better understand themselves and grow through life’s challenges. My background in child welfare allowed me to work closely with children and families, which gave me a deep understanding of trauma, emotional patterns, and how our early experiences can shape us well into adulthood. Today, I focus on working one-on-one with adults, creating a safe and supportive space where you can slow down, reflect, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, I’m here to help you explore not just what you’re going through—but why. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, but I always center the work around you. I believe therapy is more than just coping—it’s about building insight, strengthening your sense of self, and developing the tools you need to move forward with clarity, confidence, and intention.
Starting therapy can feel scary, and that is completely normal. You’re not expected to tell me your whole life story today. We’ll go at a pace that is comfortable for you. The first session is mostly about understanding your situation and your goals. I’ll spend time learning about what brought you in and what you’d like help with. Next, I’ll go over confidentiality and answer any questions you have. Finally, we’ll talk about what success in therapy looks like for you.
My therapeutic approach is strength-based and culturally responsive, focusing on building trust and empowering clients to create meaningful, lasting change. We are not going to focus on your, “guilt,” but acknowledge any cultural expectations, normalize emotions, and reframe any struggle as a sign of pressure- not weakness. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a Person-Centered approach. Together, these evidence-based methods help you identify and challenge unhelpful or irrational thought patterns, while also creating a space grounded in empathy, understanding, and genuine support. Clients provide feedback that I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can talk openly and feel heard. This method enables clients to explore their concerns, process emotions, and work through life’s challenges at your own pace. I believe in meeting clients where they are while honoring their lived experiences, values, and personal strengths.
I support individuals and families navigating stress and trauma related to child welfare involvement, including parents involved in DCFS/CPS cases and those working towards reunification. I have experience working with new and postpartum parents adjusting to the demands of parenting. I also work with clients experiencing relationship challenges, co-parenting concerns, family conflict, employment stressors, and life transitions, helping them build stability, strengthen coping skills, and improve overall well-being.
