(she/her)
Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. I received my master's from the University of Argosy and have been practicing for 12 years. I help children and adults struggling with grief and trauma, understanding the brain's reaction to the loss or grief. Through therapy, we develop coping skills to ease the process, and we learn to manage emotions.
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then we will dive into the specific challenges the client is facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with grief and trauma for the past 10 years, I have compassion, and empathy to meet the client where he/she is. Listening, and respecting everyone's process as unique.
Anyone that feels overwhelmed by the heavy emotions of grief and trauma. Anyone that needs to be heard and needs guidance through the journey of grief.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that help manage problems by changing the way of thinking and behaving. Our thoughts guide our emotions, that guide our behaviors. Changing the way we think (identifying those irrational thoughts), will change the way we feel and the way we react to a situation.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is focus on the eye movement while processing traumatic memories. EMDR therapy focuses directly on the memory, and is intended to change the way that the memory is stored in the brain, thus reducing and eliminating the problematic symptoms.
Grief Therapy
Grief therapy works through reactions to a loss. These reactions may include behavioral and physical problems, extreme mourning, and being unable to separate emotionally from the person or the situation.
Mind-body approach
Involves a group of healing techniques that enhance the mind's interactions with bodily function through yoga and meditation.
