I’m Dr. Jessa Mohaddess Westmoreland, a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping individuals gain deep insight into their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral patterns. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, OCD, grief, and relationship difficulties. My approach is holistic and integrative, drawing from psychodynamic, attachment, and developmental theories, as well as integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic interventions. I help clients not only manage symptoms but also explore the root causes of their struggles, empowering them to make lasting, meaningful changes aligned with their values.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you’ll have the opportunity to share your background and the challenges you’re facing. We’ll discuss the focus of our work together, set specific goals, and outline a path forward. My aim is to create a collaborative and supportive environment where you feel heard and understood. By the end of the session, you’ll have clarity on our goals and feel empowered with a clear direction for your therapeutic journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths lie in my ability to form strong, empathetic connections with clients. I practice from a relational frame, emphasizing collaboration and building trust, which are essential for fostering lasting, meaningful change. I integrate psychodynamic, attachment, and developmental perspectives to deepen our understanding of the influence of early life experiences on present-day challenges. With extensive clinical training during internship at Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance and a postdoctoral fellowship at Vantage Point, I'm equipped to offer both therapeutic support and comprehensive psychological assessments.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with folks who are ready to go beyond just symptom management and are seeking deeper self-understanding and growth. My ideal clients are those who want to explore the root causes of their struggles, whether it’s related to mood, relationships, trauma, or life transitions. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about why past interventions haven’t worked, I can help you uncover unconscious patterns and behaviors that may be holding you back. My clients value insight and long-term transformation, and they are ready to work collaboratively to uncover the dynamics influencing their thoughts, behaviors, and relationships, leading to a more fulfilling and empowered life.
