Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Registered Art Therapist based in California. I have been practicing for 18 years with an array of populations and in different settings. I help individuals of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and relational issues, or personal struggles that may be causing distress and preventing them from becoming their best self, or preventing them to meet their goals in life.
In our first session, we will review important information and paperwork required for psychotherapy. We'll start with brief introductions and review necessary information. It is important to me that I gain a thorough understanding of what brings you to seek therapy at this time in your life, hence the first couple of weeks we will delved into personal reflections that will help us create a collaborative treatment plan for the follow-up sessions. I will frequently assess where we are in the set goals and change them as growth occurs during the course of treatment.
Having worked with an array of populations and in different settings, I've developed ample knowledge of techniques and practices for helping you: (a) identify the root cause of your challenges, and (b) create a plan that leads to measurable progress. I am genuinely interested in helping my clients feel better, and meet their goals. I am client-centered in my approach, and value our therapeutic relationship, but I will challenge you to promote self-reflection and self-discovery.
My clients are eager to improve the quality of their lives. I work with individuals who have set to improve themselves and improve their relationships, but don't yet have the tools needed to make their goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, depressed or anxious but want to learn and practice skills for managing their emotions, and change patterns of behaviors that have not yielded what they want for themselves.
Through CBT we will discuss your emotions and thoughts, and I will aim to help you develop new patterns of behavior that may help in sustain long-life healthy mental health.
Through DBT we will discuss patterns of behavior that stem from intense emotions, and we will work towards learning to manage these and improve relationships in order to sustain long-term goals.
Taking a perspective of building their strengths, I help clients increase self-esteem, confidence, and motivation by identifying ways to strengthen their inherent strengths to overcome challenges in life and their personal goals.
Spirituality is a strength and protective factor in mental health. I am open to taking a faith-based approach in therapy as a way to promote healing and strength, as it can significantly enhance mental health by fostering a sense of purpose, meaning, and social connection, among other benefits, that lead to improved coping mechanisms, stress management, acceptance, and overall well-being.
