7 years of experience
Hi! I'm Rebecca. I see clients by telehealth video at my private office located in the foothills of North Georgia. Family is a significant part of my life. My husband of 27 years and I and our 19-year-old daughter, who is developmentally challenged, live very close to my older brother. We have many pet dogs and cats which make our lives rich and full. Living a creative life is very important to me too. I replenish my energy by pursuing creative outlets such as painting, collage, mixed media, sewing, and writing. I am also an avid reader and acquirer of books. My office walls are lined with bookshelves laden with my lifetime of reading materials! When I think of who my ideal client would be, I can honestly say that client is you. You are on a journey of self-discovery and healing that has led you to this site and my profile. You are courageous, brave, and determined to make meaning in your life. You are tired of hurting. You are looking for someone to accompany you on this journey who understands what it's like to be in your shoes and honors that knowledge with empathy and respect. It would be a privilege to be the person to accompany you.
My goal is to provide a safe space for my clients to unburden themselves of negative thoughts and behaviors and learn to take up new and healthier positive thoughts and behaviors. I seek to help my clients attain a sense of hope and peace in their lives. Joy and happiness can grow from this sustainable hope and peace.
My method of therapy is an eclectic mix of client-centered and narrative therapies depending on clients' needs.
I am particularly interested in helping those in key transition phases of their lives, such as young adulthood and entering retirement. I also have a special connection with those experiencing grief, facing terminal illness, those involved in caregiving of family members, and those coping with chronic pain in their own lives, especially fibromyalgia.
