LMFT, 13 years of experience
I work with people navigating substance use, trauma, anxiety, and grief. My focus is helping you find clarity and relief when life feels overwhelming. I offer a compassionate, strength-based approach that draws from diverse modalities to support your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Together we'll explore what works best for you as you navigate life transitions, trauma, anxiety, adoption, and grief. I have been licensed for 13 years. In this journey, I have 5 years of experience working with individuals navigating substance use, 22 years working with foster children, and I am a mommy to an angel baby. I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and understood.
In our first session, we'll get to know one another and explore what brought you to therapy. We'll build a plan that supports your overall goals and empowers you to lead a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
I am here to listen and to be a support as we navigate your journey towards healing.
I work with individuals managing anxiety, grief/loss, depression, life transitions, and self-esteem struggles. Whether you're working through trauma, building coping skills, or exploring personal goals, I'll provide support as we create a plan for growth that feels empowering and achievable.
We will work to understand your unconscious process and how your past experiences shape your current thoughts and behaviors.
I explore a diverse range of treatment modalities to support your journey in mental, physical, and emotional well-being. I work with clients struggling with life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief/loss.

My 1st session with Emma was amazing. She made me feel heard, supported, and gently reminded me of the goodness found in our faith, grounding me during a time when I felt overwhelmed. What stood out most was how she shared bits of her own experience in such a thoughtful and appropriate way, helping me feel truly understood. Her presence was calm and reassuring, and she made it clear that she’s here to walk alongside me, offering guidance and steady support.

I just ended my first ever therapy session with Ms. Ruiz and I have to say, if I could use more tabs on how to describe her, I'd use them all. She was patient because I started crying instantly (I was extremely nervous), she was warm, she had great suggestions, she made me feel empowered in her positive words. She made me feel super optimistic about the growth I will do AND about my next session with her. Ms. Ruiz, you are AMAZING!!

She was very insightful and looked for a solution to solve my problem in an unconventional way.
