(she/her)
Hi! I am a LMFT based in Georgia, licensed in Georgia and South Carolina. I have a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. I have 12 years of experience working with a diverse range of clients, from children to adults, from all walks of life. I would love to help you overcome or cope better with mental health challenges that hinder you from having the life you want.
In our first session I give my clients the ability to talk in detail about their current symptoms, stressors, and issues and how their lives are being impacted by these. I also begin gathering background information including but not limited to treatment history, trauma history, and family history. Lastly, I give my clients the ability to identify their goals for treatment and answer any questions they have about the therapy process.
I have the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. As a former military brat, I have had the ability to experience many different cultures (within the US and outside) and I know what it's like to have to adapt and adjust to change.
I love working with clients who are dealing with major life transitions (work, marriage, divorce, relocation, first child) and feeling overwhelmed. I also love working with clients who are trying to break out of unhealthy behaviors and patterns in their personal relationships. I love clients who are open to a fresh perspective and seeking insight and feedback to live their best life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients identify and address problematic thoughts that keep them stuck in life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I work with my clients to help them first own their own thoughts and feelings and then to move towards making the changes that they are seeking.
Integrative
I don't believe that just one model alone is usually sufficient in working with clients. I bring techniques and interventions from various therapy approaches to best meet the needs of my client.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Person centered therapy works great for clients who really are assertive in their sessions and know what they want to address and discuss. I love allowing these clients to lead the session as they see fit and support them in their recovery.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I utilize Solution Focused interventions to help clients identify ways that they have successfully coped progressed towards their goals in the past. When clients are in a low place they tend to lose sight of their past successes.
