New to Grow
Hi! I'm Jen. I've been a therapist for more than 10 years. I have worked in community based mental health, group homes and residential programs. I have provided individual, group and family therapy. I am not only a therapist, but I also provide supervision to unlicensed therapists and have provided psychoeducation presentations on DBT skills and attachment theory. I am also a real person with a life! I have a sweet dog and we like to hike together. In the summer I paddleboard and play on sand volleyball and soccer teams. I have recently signed up for yoga teacher training. I love learning new things, moving my body and eating delicious food.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is about getting comfortable and setting the stage for our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once and no “right” way to show up. We’ll start by going over how therapy works and I’ll answer any questions you have about the process—what sessions look like, confidentiality, and what you can expect moving forward. If something feels confusing or uncertain, we’ll talk it through. From there, we’ll take things at your pace. I’ll spend time getting to know you—your background, what’s been going on in your life, and what you’re hoping might change through therapy. You get to decide how much you share and when. This is your space. By the end of the session, we’ll have a sense of what you want to focus on and whether working together feels like a good fit. Building trust takes time, and the first session is simply the first step.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach is casual, direct, and respectful. I bring warmth and humor into the room while staying honest, curious, and fully engaged. When it’s helpful, I’ll gently challenge patterns or behaviors—but always with care and intention. I take everyone I work with seriously without making things feel heavy or overly clinical. You won’t be talked down to, rushed, or pushed to share more than you’re ready for. Therapy with me is a space where the untalkable becomes talkable, where difficult feelings can be explored safely, and where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported from the very beginning. I work with a wide range of clients, and one of my strengths is engaging teens—especially those who are hard to reach or struggling with co-occurring disorders. I combine relational connection with practical skills to help clients navigate emotions, relationships, and life’s challenges, all at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with people—teens, young adults, adults, and families—who are ready to reflect on their role in life’s challenges and try new ways of thinking, feeling, and being. If you’re open to honest, practical work and willing to experiment with new approaches, therapy with me can help you handle life’s stressors more effectively. Parents choose me when teens are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or identity questions, and parents want their teen to have guidance that actually works. I keep it real, listen, and use humor when it helps. Together, we build trust, strengthen communication, and develop practical skills so teens and families can respond to challenges in healthier ways. Adults choose me when they want therapy that’s relatable, actionable, and supportive. We explore patterns, practice coping strategies, and work on building emotional resilience, self-awareness, and stronger relationships—without judgment, overthinking, or unnecessary fluff.
Attachment-based
We will explore early childhood experiences and how those impact your beliefs about the world, others and yourself.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Relational
We are both humans navigating the complexities of life. I show up authentically and hope you feel safe enough to do the same.
