Hi, I am Miriam, a Latina Licensed Therapist with over a decade of experience working with adults as they navigate some of life's most difficult moments. I know first hand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, and my hope is to offer you a safe space where you feel supported and truly understood. My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I believe healing happens through a trusting relationship, where you are met with empathy and respect. Together, we will move at a pace that feels right for you, creating room for reflection, insight, and gentle growth.
In our first sessions, you will be met with compassion and safety. We will explore your reasons for seeking therapy, clarify your goals and collectively review a plan supporting your goals. We will move at a speed that feels most comfortable to you.
My goal is to create a safe space for you to comfortably speak your truth and with time, completely feel like yourself without having to worry about any judgement. With me, therapy is a collaborative approach to develop appropriate coping skills, strengthen self and work towards creating meaningful positive change.
My ideal client is a mom navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or the transition into motherhood who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, overwhelm, guilt, or feeling like she’s lost a sense of herself. She may love her baby deeply while also struggling with intrusive thoughts, mom guilt, relationship changes, or the pressure to balance motherhood, work, and caring for everyone else. She may feel like she “should” be happier or wonder why motherhood feels harder than she expected. My goal is to provide a warm, judgment-free space where moms can be honest about what they’re experiencing without fear of being judged. Together, we work toward reducing anxiety and depressive symptoms, building emotional regulation skills, developing self-compassion, strengthening relationships, and helping moms feel more confident and connected to themselves, not just as mothers, but as individuals.

I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a structured, skills-based approach to support clients in developing emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. My experience with DBT includes integrating its core components into individual therapy sessions, particularly when working with clients experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, and difficulty managing intense emotions. My approach is both skills-focused and validation-centered. I prioritize creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and accepted, while also encouraging meaningful behavioral change. I often help clients identify patterns of emotional dysregulation and guide them in applying DBT skills to real-life situations.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, evidence-based approach to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My experience with CBT includes working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress-related concerns, and life transitions, where identifying and modifying maladaptive thought patterns is central to treatment. My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and skills-based. I work with clients to increase awareness of automatic negative thoughts and cognitive distortions, while supporting them in developing more balanced and adaptive ways of thinking. I also emphasize behavioral interventions to help clients translate insight into meaningful change.
