(she/her)
I am a mom, wife, friend and therapist. I am passionate about caring for people and meeting them where they are. I use a variety of therapy modalities to care for clients and find that it's best to sit with my clients and understand their needs and goals and then come up with a plan together. I have been a therapist for 7 years and love what I do. I have my Masters in Counseling from Covenant Seminary.
For our initial session, I like to hear about what is bringing you to therapy, your goals, and any previous experiences that you may have with therapy. I also like to share a bit more about me.
I have a lot of experience working with clients who have experienced trauma. I work with clients who have lost a loved one, been abused or neglected and been through a traumatic event. I love helping clients feel safe in their bodies and with their friends and family again. I am passionate about getting my clients to a place of healing and will dow whatever it takes to care for them well.
Often clients come to me with anxiety, trauma or grief that is holding them back from their goals and the things they enjoy. I know people often have tried various things to help them and counseling is a last resort, but I love helping people figure out how we can best meet their needs together. I see counseling as a collaborative experience and know that connection and the interpersonal relationship is one of the most important parts of therapy.
I use to EMDR to help clients who have experienced a traumatic event or clients who are feeling stuck.
I use Attachment Theory by looking at a client's family history and understand who they are in the context of how their caregivers cared for them. Attachment impacts how we interact with others in relationships as adults and I enjoy helping clients figure out their attachment patterns.
I am a christian therapist, but see many clients who are not. I enjoy helping clients from all walks of life and know that faith is important to some.
