Hi! I am Stacy McCarty-Nash, but just Stacy will do! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor/Mentor. I have been practicing therapy for 24+ years after earning my Master of Science (MS) degree from Friends University. I am licensed in Virginia, Texas, and Florida. My niche is working with culturally diverse individuals struggling with relationship distress, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. My mission is to nurture emotional well-being and help you heal and grow one step at a time.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will take time to establish a comfortable rapport with one another while you express your concerns, establish your goal(s), and we work together to design your specific path (aka treatment plan) to accomplish your goal(s).

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor my therapy style to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other issue, we work together to help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

It is my belief we all experience challenging moments in life. During these times we often need a non-judgmental perspective to help work through those moments. It is my goal as a therapist to help you find the skills to remove the barriers that are preventing you from leading a happy and healthy life. My training as an LMFT-S allows me to utilize a systemic approach when working with others, which means we can talk about how everything and everyone around you impacts your life. The goal is to empower you to establish healthy relationships and boundaries with yourself, and those in your life so you can be the best you!

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Focus is on fostering secure emotional bonds to enhance relationship dynamics and personal growth. By addressing underlying attachment styles and relational patterns, I strive to promote healthier connections and emotional resilience in my clients.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to self-esteem issues, relationship distress, and poor boundaries. By developing healthier thinking habits and coping strategies, clients can improve emotional well-being, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps clients struggling with self-esteem, relationship distress, and poor boundaries by identifying and reshaping negative interaction patterns that create emotional disconnection. Through a structured, attachment-based approach, I guide clients in fostering deeper emotional bonds, increasing self-awareness, and building healthier, more secure relationships.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is used to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence, empowering them to make meaningful changes in their relationships and personal well-being. By using open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations, I guide clients toward identifying their strengths and building intrinsic motivation for growth.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy helps clients externalize their problems by separating their identity from their struggles, allowing them to rewrite their life stories with a more empowering perspective. By exploring alternative narratives, clients can challenge limiting beliefs, strengthen their sense of self, and build healthier relationships.
