I will gain information from you about your past, present, and future as well as about your goals. No preparation is necessary; just show up.
I individualize our sessions and track progress qualitatively and quantitatively. I am a good listener and can structure sessions to keep us on track if needed. I have a wide range of education and experience, and I value staying abreast on current research and changes in the field.
I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults of all ages. Many life experiences are both unique and universal. We all experience times in our lives when we are unsure about which path to take. I will help you feel comfortable making decisions that will bring you closer to your long-term goals. I tailor my approach to best meet your needs.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We will explore your past, present, and future as we gain clarity about your thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Patterns develop and frequently repeat until we become aware of them and plan accordingly. I look forward to helping you make positive changes in your life.
EMDR
Support, guidance, and distractions with bilateral stimulation allow your brain to desensitize and reprocess traumatic events in your life. Once reprocessed, you can move forward with clarity and make decisions from a position of strength. Knowledge is power, and you can't change what you don't understand.
Gottman method
I see both individuals and couples, and couples work is successful with one or two individuals in the room. A change in one partner effects the relationship dynamic, and positive changes are often noticed shortly after beginning therapy.
