Nev Trakic
I am a licensed therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, and disconnected from themselves. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity questions, or past experiences that still affect their present. As an immigrant and a trans person, I bring a deeper appreciation for the complexity of identity, culture, and belonging. I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space for people of all backgrounds. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. In therapy we slow things down and create space to explore what is happening beneath the surface and work toward greater clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper sense of self-connection
First session
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what's been most challenging for you. We'll explore what you are hoping to change or understand better in your life. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of the session we will have a clearer sense of your goals and whether working together feels like a good fit.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a safe and affirming space where people feel seen and accepted without judgement. I help clients notice patterns in their emotions, relationships, and life experiences, leading to greater awareness and clarity. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each person's pace and unique story.
Ideal clients
You may be navigating anxiety, past experiences that still affect you, identity questions or major life transitions. I work especially well with individuals who value reflection, curiosity, and personal growth, and are open to exploring patterns that may be keeping them stuck.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
In ACT we work with the thoughts and emotions that can sometimes keep us stuck. Instead of trying to fight or get rid of them, we learn new ways to relate to them so they have less power over our lives. Together we focus on what matters the most to you and take small, meaningful steps toward living a way that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
REBT helps us look at how our thoughts and beliefs shape the way we feel and respond to life. Together we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work toward developing more flexible and supportive ways of thinking. This can help reduce emotional distress and create more room for clarity, confidence, and healthier choices.
Gender-affirming therapy
I provide a supportive and affirming space where clients can explore gender identity, relationships and life transitions. Together we work through the impact of stress, stigma, and personal challenges while building greater clarity, confidence, and self-acceptance.
Trauma-Informed Care
I take trauma-informed approach that recognizes how past experiences can shape emotions, relationships, and sense of safety. In our work together, we move at a pace that feels safe and respectful, focusing on building practical tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. Together we create a foundation where difficult experiences can be explored safely and deeper healing can unfold.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I approach therapy with awareness and respect for each person's cultural background, identity, and lived experience. Together we explore how cultural, family, and social contexts shape emotions, relationships, and life challenges. In our work together, we make space to explore these experiences while developing tools for self-awareness and resilience in a way that respects each client's values and lived experience.
