Are you a teen or young adult struggling to navigate social pressures and responsibilities? A parent of a struggling teen? I help create self-esteem and establish proper perspectives when young adults feel overwhelmed. A full-time school counselor, Colin Smith has been working with adolescents both in schools and in outpatient therapy for nearly twenty years. Working in both public and approved private schools as well as community mental health has provided Colin with various learning opportunities. Areas of experience include individuals with anxiety, depression, self-esteem deficits, autism, and conduct disorders. He has provided individual, group, and family therapy in school, home, and office settings. Colin believes in the power of rapport building and establishing a strong therapeutic bond through trust, and a lack of judgment. His approach involves using individual strengths to foster independence and personal growth.
Clients can expect to feel more empowered, and self aware throughout treatment. I help to foster more confident decision making.
Methods used will be cognitive therapy, behavioral modification, and most importantly, individualized person-centered therapy.
