About me

I am Dr. Marcus Campbell, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies with an emphasis on trauma crisis counseling and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After serving in the United States Army for over 30 years and retiring as a Command Sergeant Major, I am now a therapist dedicated to assisting you in achieving your goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

When you first sit down with me for a behavioral health therapy session, you'll step into a warm and inviting space where you can truly feel at ease, allowing you to open up and share your thoughts and feelings. In that initial meeting, we'll take the time to really connect. I want to understand your worries, aspirations, and story. Together, we'll build a foundation of trust and respect that forms the core of our therapeutic relationship. We'll talk about why you've chosen therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any important background details. I'll walk you through how therapy works, ensure you understand the importance of confidentiality, and address any questions or concerns you may have. As we move forward, we'll work side by side to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your unique needs and goals. Special Note: To ensure we make the most of our time together, please carefully and thoughtfully complete the attached intake forms and submit them electronically at least 48 hours prior to your first session. These forms provide essential background information and will help guide our work. Additionally, if you are a client contacting me through the secure messaging portal, please allow up to 24 hours for a response. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis, do not wait for a reply—please contact 988 (National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to the nearest emergency room for immediate support. Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to working with you! For all sessions: A no-show or late cancellation fee will be applied if you fail to arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment time.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a behavioral health therapist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to truly listen and empathize with my clients. I strive to create a compassionate and non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, understood, and supported in their journey toward healing and personal growth. Furthermore, my background in counseling and psychological studies, as well as my experience specializing in trauma and crisis counseling, equips me with the knowledge and skills to effectively address a wide range of mental health concerns. I am dedicated to staying informed about the latest research and therapeutic techniques to provide the best possible care for my clients. Overall, I believe that my passion for helping others, my commitment to ongoing learning and growth, and my ability to form meaningful connections with clients are among my greatest strengths as a behavioral health therapist.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You’ll get the most out of therapy when you actively participate in the process. The purpose of our work together is not only what happens in session, but how you take what you learn and apply it to your life. I may suggest things you can do between sessions—like reading something meaningful, journaling about specific topics, noticing your thoughts and behavioral patterns, or taking small steps toward your goals. Starting therapy means you’re ready to create positive changes, stay open to new ways of thinking, and take responsibility for your own growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as I strongly believe in empowering individuals to become their own therapists. By utilizing CBT to identify and address inaccurate or negative thought patterns, I help individuals gain clearer perspectives on challenging situations and develop more effective responses.
