You thought you'd feel different by now. The anxiety won't quiet. The birth keeps replaying. Something about motherhood feels harder than anyone warned you. This practice exists for exactly that: pregnancy, postpartum, birth trauma, and the identity shift of becoming a mother. I have 14 years of clinical experience and completed postdoctoral training at Columbia, all centered on perinatal mental health. My clients come to me because they want focused expertise from someone who has devoted her career to supporting the transition into motherhood, or matrescence.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is about being heard fully. We'll talk about what brought you here, what you're carrying, and what support would actually look like for you. Most clients say they feel less alone by the end of the hour — and clearer about what they need.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Somatic therapy address how birth trauma and postpartum anxiety live in the body, not just the mind. I bring a narrative lens to what stories you want to take forward into motherhood, or leave behind. I also have a neurodivergence specialty and understand how this can complicate the transition into motherhood. Sessions are collaborative and we'll work at a pace that honors the complexity of what you're carrying rather than rushing toward resolution.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with mothers and birthing people who are carrying something they haven't been able to fully name yet. Often they're intelligent, self-aware women who have tried to think their way through their distress and found that it hasn't been enough. They know something is shifting, and they're ready to look at it more closely with support. I'm also well suited to mothers who feel the weight of the world in a literal sense — who lie awake worrying about climate change, who feel complicated about bringing children into an uncertain future, who find that their love for their child has cracked them open to a grief they didn't expect. This experience is more common than it appears, and I've spent years building the clinical and research framework to meet it. You don't need to have it figured out to work with me. You just need to be willing to tell the truth about what you're carrying.
