Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is more of a dialogue than screening. It is my goal to learn directly from the individual how we can work together and what it is that we can work towards. We will get to know one another in an authentic and relaxed atmosphere.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I spent 17 years working in child & family services in central Florida prior to working as a psychotherapist full-time. Since 2017, I have worked with several individuals with varying mental and behavioral health issues in community mental health and private practice settings. I obtained my PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision upon the completion of research in the area of LGBTQ wellbeing. I have also had the privilege to teach graduate & doctoral level students, train law enforcement professionals, and maintain a presence in community mental health. My areas of focused training are in trauma and LGBTQ issues; however, I have had the honor of working with individuals navigating, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive difficulties and everything else in between. It is my hope that through working together, you will strengthen your sense of self, well-being, and holistic wellness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Seeking help is hugely underrated as a courageous and brave act. I love to work with children, adolescents, and/or adults who are looking for change or a better sense of self.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Exploring maladaptive thinking patterns can help address concerns and change patterns of behavior.

EMDR

EMDR helps process stressful events in a way that allows the individual to choose how much they want to share regarding details of a memory or event with the therapist.

Play Therapy

Play is the language of children. I prefer to learn the individual’s interests and build therapy around their likes and dislikes. Often, youth tell me they feel as though they are playing and not “doing therapy”.
