Amy Bockelkamp, DNP

PMHNP, 10 years of experience

I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in psychotropic medication management for Millennials, Generation Z, and Zillennials to treat conditions like anxiety, depression, and life transition challenges. I carry a unique background that includes primary care and rheumatology as a nurse practitioner, along with RN experience supporting pregnant and postpartum patients. This diverse clinical foundation allows me to approach mental health with a broad, compassionate, and informed perspective. In addition to clinical care, I also teach in nurse practitioner programs across psychiatric mental health, family, and adult-gerontology specialties, which keeps me deeply connected to the latest evidence-based practices.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for me to get to know you—your concerns, your history, and what’s been working or not working for you. We’ll talk about your mental health goals and explore whether medication could be a helpful part of your treatment plan. I’ll always take time to explain your options and make sure you feel comfortable and heard.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a provider is creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where patients feel truly seen, heard, and supported. With a background in both physical and mental health, I approach care holistically and with intention. I believe healing begins with connection, and I’m committed to building trust through open communication and deep respect for each person’s unique journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My approach is supportive, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you feel better—without judgment. I specialize in managing anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Whether you're navigating college or young adulthood, working as a healthcare provider, facing infertility (men and women), coping with perinatal changes or loss, managing life after an organ transplant (as a recipient or family member), or living with a chronic illness, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to your care. I believe mental health support should be personal, respectful, and empowering.
