About me

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a trauma-informed approach and a deep commitment to meeting clients where they are. With extensive experience across diverse settings—including homelessness outreach, crisis counseling, and long-term support for individuals with serious mental illness (SMI)—I offer compassionate, effective care tailored to each individual's unique needs. My practice spans all populations and age groups, and I'm fluent in working with complex issues such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, neurocognitive disorders (including dementia with behavioral disturbances), and geriatric mental health. Whether you're navigating a crisis, living with a chronic condition, or seeking support for everyday challenges, I’m here to provide grounded, respectful, and results-focused care.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance to build a strong foundation for our work together. We'll begin by discussing what brings you to therapy, and I'll invite you to share your mental health history, any past treatments or diagnoses, and current concerns. This helps me gain a clear understanding of your unique experiences and needs. We'll also work together to identify your goals for therapy—whether you're looking for coping tools, deeper insight, stability, or support through a crisis. If you're in acute distress or have a history of safety concerns, we’ll create a personalized crisis plan to ensure you're supported both in and outside of sessions. This is a space where you can speak freely, at your own pace. My priority is making sure you feel safe, respected, and heard from the very start.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My Greatest Strengths I build strong, authentic connections with clients and create a safe space for growth. I’m skilled at using evidence-based tools in a flexible, client-centered way that meets people where they are. What Stands Out About My Approach I blend CBT, MI, ACT, and DBT to offer practical support with warmth and clarity. Clients often say they feel both understood and empowered — and that they leave sessions with tools that actually work.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are navigating complex life challenges and are ready to engage in meaningful, supportive work toward healing and growth. This includes individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, serious mental illness (SMI), and neurocognitive conditions such as dementia—especially those with behavioral disturbances. I’m also well-suited to support individuals in crisis, those experiencing homelessness, and clients facing major life transitions, including aging and caregiving. Whether you're seeking clarity, stability, or long-term strategies for well-being, I provide a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed space where all are welcome and all experiences are valid.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I regularly use CBT in my practice to treat anxiety, depression, and other mood-related issues. My training includes formal coursework, supervision, and ongoing professional development. I apply CBT by helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, develop healthier coping skills, and make behavior changes. I use techniques like cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and structured homework to support progress between sessions. CBT's structured and collaborative nature makes it a highly effective, goal-oriented approach in my work.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, helps people open up to difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fight them. The focus is on accepting what’s out of your control, connecting with the present moment, and committing to actions that align with your values. My approach is supportive, practical, and values-driven—aimed at building psychological flexibility so you can move forward with what truly matters.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT, or Cognitive Processing Therapy, is a structured approach to treating trauma by helping people identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs related to the trauma. My approach focuses on creating a safe space to explore stuck points, shift thinking patterns, and support recovery through clarity, empowerment, and evidence-based strategies.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, helps people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build coping skills. My approach emphasizes balance—acceptance and change—while teaching practical skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness in a supportive, structured way.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment in the healing process. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, focusing on creating a safe space, building resilience, and honoring each person’s experience without re-traumatization.
