Greetings, and thank you for viewing my profile. I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in California and the District of Columbia. My pronouns are she, her, ya, and I identify as a Black, cisgender female. I have been in clinical practice since 2021. I joined this platform to provide accessible therapeutic services to a diverse array of children, youth, and young adults.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will be focused on getting to know each other. I am intentional in creating a relaxed space to learn about your interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes, goals, and areas of growth. My priority is for you to feel comfortable, seen, and heard.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Curiosity matched with empathy creates a warm and inviting space for others to relax and express themselves without the fear of being judged. Together, we will find ways to help you process and manage your thoughts and feelings while leaning into your strengths and values.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Engaging with children, adolescents, and TAY brings me great joy. I have a natural affinity toward children and youth and bring my most authentic and best self into therapeutic sessions. My experiences working in school and child welfare systems helped inform my desire to provide a safe and brave space for children and youth struggling with trauma, emotional dysregulation, anxiety and depression, self-harm, and race-based traumatic stress.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I prefer to focus on strengths and build from those areas. Sometimes, when we are in the midst of a storm we are unable to see where we shine.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have been introducing ACT principles in therapy sessions to help clients learn to accept distressing feelings and thoughts instead of resisting them. Accepting is not synonymous with liking or enjoying. Accepting where you are is powerful and allows you the freedom to change current challenges at your own pace.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am trained in Dialectical Behavior therapy for groups, and I tend to use mindfulness exercises, distress tolerance and emotion regulation skills to help clients learn coping skills to manage their feelings.

Racial trauma treatment

I am trained in race-based traumatic stress interventions. In my practice, I focus on validating experiences of racism and discrimination while guiding individuals to a space where they can retrieve their power and resist internalizing these unwelcome encounters.

Trauma-Focused CBT

As a school social worker, I utilized trauma-focused CBT in groups and individual sessions to help students learn coping skills, identify emotional triggers, and process traumatic events.
