New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Kansas and Missouri, with more than 30 years of experience providing therapy to adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. My areas of focus include trauma and PTSD, substance use and recovery, co occurring disorders, grief and loss, life transitions, stress, and burnout. I use evidence based approaches that emphasize safety, collaboration, and skill building. My work is practical and supportive, helping clients better understand patterns, strengthen coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change at a pace that feels respectful and manageable.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is a conversation, not an interrogation. We focus on what brings you in, what you want to feel or do differently, and what has or has not helped in the past. We will discuss goals, pace, and what safety and support look like for you moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach to therapy is collaborative, structured, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I use motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral strategies to help clients increase insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful change. Clients often describe feeling supported, understood, and clear about next steps.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You may be navigating trauma, substance use, burnout, or life transitions. Many of my clients value honesty, collaboration, and practical tools that support healing, boundaries, and sustainable change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT in a practical, trauma-informed way to help clients notice unhelpful thought and behavior patterns and build effective coping skills. I adapt interventions to the client’s readiness, lived experience, and goals, with an emphasis on collaboration and real world application.
Supportive
I use a supportive approach to create a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard and validated. This method emphasizes empathy, encouragement, and strengthening existing strengths while helping clients navigate stressors and life challenges. I adapt support to each client’s needs, promoting stability, confidence, and trust in the therapeutic relationship.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to support clients in exploring ambivalence and strengthening their own motivation for change. My approach is collaborative and nonjudgmental, emphasizing autonomy, empathy, and alignment with the client’s values and goals.
