About me

I am trained in depth psychology and my specialties are trauma-informed care, emotional dysregulation, attachment wounds, depression and stress and anxiety as it relates to trauma. I offer skills to handle distress, grief, change and discomfort in your own body and life. I will work with you to set boundaries, realize the difference between hurting someone's feelings and a person having feelings about the boundaries you set. I strive to treat everyone with unconditional positive regard and help you live your best life. I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with my BS in social science and received my MA in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I have worked in a variety of settings and enjoy working with individuals and couples. With my sociology and psychology background, I look at the systemic issues in society as well as specific issues that are affecting your ability to lead a full, rich life. I was a victim of narcissistic abuse and learned skills, including boundaries, to set myself free and heal. Learning to say no, learning to regulate your nervous system, to let go of old patterns of behaviors that no longer serve, are all keys to moving towards healing, peace and calm. I can help you protect your energy and calm. You are enough. You matter to me. I would love the honor of collaborating with you to unlock your full potential and bring joy, peace and contentment to your life. I strive to be authentic and transparent and I meet you where you’re at. Let’s observe, without judgment, what’s working and what’s not and work together to bring you back to your true self.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We will discuss a treatment plan and you'll share what your goals for therapy are and I will work with you to help you meet those goals. My first appointment of the day starts at noon and my last appointment starts at 6 PM. Honoring that schedule allows me to give you my best self. Typically a session lasts about 53 minutes which includes scheduling our next sessions. My calendar will then be open for you to message me and to schedule appointments on your own to hold the spots you'd like. When you contact me, I will offer my first next available appointment. If that is a few weeks out, I will add you to a wait list and contact you as soon as something opens up sooner. We can then schedule ahead to keep the spot you'd best like. You are the driver for how often I see you. Appointments can be made weekly, biweekly, every third week, monthly and so forth. I do have a strict no show and late (less than 24 hour) cancellation policy. Should you no show or cancel late, you will be charged a no show/late cancel fee of $100. There are times that I need to reschedule due to emergency or illness. I will reach out to you promptly to do so and accommodate your as best as I am able so you don't miss a week.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Most recently I've worked extensively with trauma and borderline personality disorder and have found that DBT and trauma-informed skills really serve and help us all. I strive to be culturally competent and I am open to redirection and approach with humility and openness. I also enjoy working with couples, people in a transformation part of their life and people wanting to heal that attachment wound through self compassion and challenging negative core self beliefs. As an affirming psychotherapist, I specialize in working with LGBTQA+ individuals, helping them navigate their work and personal life and also navigate the particular issues that come up in today's society. My practice is rooted in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their identities and navigate life transitions.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Women, BPD, trauma, boundary setting and codependency, LGBTQ+, trans men and women, self compassion, family problems, life changes, depression, couples therapy, family members of people with NPD and BPD, divorce counseling and how to co-parent effectively. If you are beyond the contemplative phase and actively motivated for change, I'm the therapist for you. You deserve to be your best self and the effort to process past hurts and trauma and learn new skills is worth it. I'm for people who are ready to do something different, anything different, who are aware that what they've been doing isn't working. I'm here for the people who understand there's an AND, not a BUT. Who don't want to have the same argument again and again, either with themselves or with their partner. Who aren't looking to continue the argument about what's fair. Strife, hurt, trauma, pain are never fair. I'm for people who want to radically accept what is so they can move onto solutions. To what's next. I'm for people who want to learn boundaries or enforce the ones they've already learned. Who know that honoring self is where it starts. I'm for people who are ready for change.
