New to Grow
Hi, I’m Jan. I am a trauma-informed therapist who believes that healing grows through compassion, collaboration, and feeling genuinely understood. I support clients who are dealing with anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My style is grounded, supportive, and honest, and I work with you to make sense of your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. In our sessions, you will find a space that is calm, nonjudgmental, and focused on helping you feel more steady, hopeful, and in control of your life again.
A first session with me feels calm, welcoming, and pressure-free. We talk about what’s been going on for you, what you’re hoping to work toward, and what feels most important right now. I ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, and help you set the pace so nothing ever feels rushed or overwhelming. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of direction and a space that feels safe, supportive, and genuinely collaborative.
My greatest strengths are creating a space where you feel truly understood, offering honest and compassionate feedback, and helping you make sense of what feels confusing or overwhelming. I’m skilled at turning big emotions and complicated situations into clear, manageable steps. Clients appreciate that I’m warm, grounded, and collaborative, and that I offer practical tools that actually make life feel easier.
My ideal clients are individuals who feel ready to understand themselves on a deeper level, even if they are unsure where to begin. I work best with people who are navigating stress, anxiety, grief, relationship patterns, or moments of big change and want a therapist who will partner with them rather than direct them. Many of my clients come in wanting clarity, emotional steadiness, and healthier ways of responding to life. If you value honesty, collaboration, and a supportive space to grow at your own pace, you will likely feel at home in our work together.
CBT with me is a team effort. We look at the thoughts and patterns affecting your mood and reactions, and we explore what actually feels helpful for you. Together, we experiment with new ways of thinking and coping that support the life you want. It’s practical, flexible, and always collaborative.
Grief doesn’t follow rules, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. In our work together, we create space for your emotions at your pace, without pressure to “move on.” We explore your loss, your memories, and the impact on your daily life while honoring your unique grieving process. My role is to walk beside you, not lead you, as you find steadiness again.
MI is all about supporting your motivation and your pace. We explore any mixed feelings you have about change and connect with what truly matters to you. There’s no pushing or judging, just open, honest conversations that help you tap into your own strengths and confidence. You set the direction; we navigate it together.
