Hi. I’m Dr. Kimberly, a licensed professional counselor with a Ph.D. in Health Psychology. I have experience treating adults in group and individual settings, utilizing an eclectic assortment of techniques and therapies. My areas of interest are anxiety and mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder. My motto is “carpe diem” (seize the day), and I love working with people to help find solutions while encouraging each person to seize each day as a fresh start. I do not provide couple's therapy. I do not provide therapy to individuals with personality disorders.
Sometimes life can be overwhelming. My primary goal in working with individuals is to help you achieve your full potential and lead a life in the present that is fulfilling and meaningful. We achieve this through a structured, non-confrontational approach where together, we will search for patterns in your life that are causing you difficulties.
I use an eclectic therapeutic mix, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. I chose the best approaches for your issues and needs to guide you in finding your strength and wisdom. We will begin by setting two or three small goals to work towards and set new goals as you progress along your journey. We will work to identify patterns in your thoughts and life and change them, one step at a time. We will incorporate some basic mindfulness practices to give you the space and freedom to heal. Through our work together, you will learn the tools you need to bravely meet each new day on your terms. My clients tend to be open to trying mindfulness and meditation as they can be excellent tools in their healing journey.
My specialty is using mindfulness in combination with traditional therapy tools to create a holistic approach to therapy.
