***ONLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS FOR DAY SESSIONS. 7AM-2PM AVAILABILITY TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS*** AFTERNOON SESSIONS ARE PRIORITIZED FOR CURRENT CLIENTS *** Hola! Bienvenida/o. I have been practicing for almost a decade in various settings, including private practice, foster care, adoption, and community agencies. I am certified in Applied Gerontology which helped me to understand better the biological, psychological, and sociological processes of older adult maturation and aging. My experience has given me the privilege to understand every individual at whatever stage in their life they are currently at. I am trained in evidence-based methods but my approach is to look at the individual's strengths. I help them look for solutions rather than be stuck in problem mode. I believe therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach but personalized care that will fit your needs.
During your first therapy session, my goal is to provide you with a safe, empathic, and confidential space to begin exploring your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors. I provide support and pay attention to your particular needs. Together we will identify actionable steps that you can take to make progress. We'll work together to develop strategies to overcome any obstacles that may arise and help you make lasting positive changes in your life.
There is great strength in self-awareness and courage in facing the unknown. As your therapist, I am committed to being my authentic self and walking alongside you on your journey toward self-discovery and personal growth. I am a passionate, empathic, and a strength-based clinician. I will assist you in seeking your own inner strengths while guiding you toward healing and growth. I have extensive knowledge in the mental health field as I have been blessed with working in several settings such as homes, schools, private practice, and county nonprofit organizations for 10 years. It allows me to serve a diverse population and provide specific therapy to every individual. My experience ranges from child behavioral issues, parenting, communication, and relationship issues to individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, loss or suicidal ideation, and more. I have a thorough knowledge of all mental illnesses and diagnoses and provide a thorough assessment to meet your needs.
We all carry hurts and happenings with us that can weigh us down, preventing us from becoming the person we want to be. The moment we begin to heal those hurts and happenings, we blossom and grow into the individual we are capable of becoming. If you are feeling anxious, depressed, angry, stuck, resentful, unable to communicate needs and have positive relationships with others or yourself, you need professional support to help you unravel what is keeping you from reaching your best self.
My approach to therapy is primarily centered around the individual because I firmly believe that you are the foremost authority on yourself. I see you as the key driver of change and progress towards achieving your goals gathering from your strengths.
I have a deep understanding of the ways in which trauma can impact a person's mental health and well-being. I prioritize creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that fosters trust and respect, and I'm mindful of the potential triggers and sensitivities that can arise during the therapeutic process. I also recognize that trauma is often a root cause of many mental health issues and work collaboratively with my clients to identify and address these underlying traumas. This might include helping clients develop coping strategies for managing trauma-related symptoms, providing education about trauma and its effects, and working to build a sense of empowerment and resilience in clients. Overall, trauma-informed care would strive to create a healing and empowering therapeutic relationship that recognizes and honors the unique experiences and needs of each individual client.
