As a mental health nurse practitioner specializing in perinatal care, I provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health support to individuals navigating the emotional and psychological challenges associated with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. My role focuses on assessing, diagnosing, and treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including prenatal and postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, and birth-related trauma. I work collaboratively with clients, families, obstetric providers, and other members of the care team to ensure holistic support. My services include individualized treatment plans, medication management when appropriate, and therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of the perinatal population. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, validated, and empowered on their mental health journey during one of life’s most transformative periods.
In our first session together, my goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. We'll take a holistic look at your story—who you are beyond the symptoms or challenges that brought you in. Together, we'll explore your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being; your relationships and support systems; your journey through pregnancy, fertility, or parenthood; and the hopes or healing you're seeking. Whether you're looking to resolve specific issues or simply need help finding peace amid uncertainty or overwhelm, this session lays the groundwork for compassionate, collaborative care. There’s no rush—just space to share, reflect, and begin building a plan that honors your full self.
What sets me apart in this work is the unique blend of clinical expertise, lived experience, and heartfelt compassion I bring to every client relationship. With 13 years of experience supporting mothers and families through the trauma, uncertainty, and emotional toll of the NICU, I’ve helped countless parents make sense of their experience, process grief and fear, and begin to heal as they transition home. I’m dual-trained as a neonatal and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, with additional certifications in perinatal mental health, doula care, and nurse coaching—giving me a truly holistic lens to understand and support the whole person. Just as importantly, I carry the personal experience of navigating IVF, becoming a wife and mother, and finding myself thrown into life transitions without the support I needed. This gives me deep empathy for the complexities of perinatal mental health and a passion for ensuring others don’t have to face those challenges alone. I walk beside my clients with respect, humility, and the belief that healing is possible—even in the messiest, most tender seasons of life.
With over 13 years of neonatal intensive care experience and eight years attending high-risk deliveries, I bring a unique blend of clinical expertise and deep empathy to my work as a mental health nurse practitioner. My personal journey through IVF to become a mother has given me a firsthand understanding of the emotional complexity surrounding fertility challenges, pregnancy, and early parenthood. I am best positioned to serve individuals and families in the perinatal period who are experiencing: High-risk pregnancies and/or NICU stays, including parents of premature or medically complex infants Fertility struggles or loss, including those navigating IVF, miscarriage, or stillbirth Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, such as postpartum depression, anxiety, or trauma-related symptoms First-time parents or those with birth-related trauma, who may feel overwhelmed, isolated, or uncertain Healthcare workers or NICU staff, who are seeking a provider who deeply understands the demands and emotional toll of the clinical environment My goal is to offer a safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal and thrive—emotionally, mentally, and as parents.

Leah was really easy to talk to and made me feel heard and not judged. I feel like I can trust her and am confident she will help me work on more healthy coping skills/learning to love myself.
