Hi, and welcome to Editions Counseling Co. ! I'm Alexandra Giardina, MS, LPC, NCC, and I provide virtual therapy for adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, trauma, relationship challenges, and personal growth. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented, integrating Adlerian, attachment-based, narrative, and cognitive behavioral approaches to help clients better understand themselves, break unhelpful patterns, and create meaningful change. At Editions Counseling Co., I believe therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and begin writing a new chapter. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something different, I strive to provide a supportive environment where you can gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with your values and goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation for our work together. I'll take time to learn about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to gain from the process. We'll also discuss important aspects of your personal history, relationships, strengths, and support systems so I can better understand the bigger picture of your life. My approach to the first session is conversational, collaborative, and focused on helping you feel comfortable. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. Therapy is not about having the "right" answers—it's about creating space to explore your experiences without judgment. Together, we'll begin identifying goals for therapy and discussing what meaningful progress might look like for you. I'll also answer any questions you have about the therapy process, my approach, or what to expect moving forward. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of direction for the work ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to. I strive to create a space where people feel genuinely seen, understood, and accepted without judgment. My background in counseling, education, and communication allows me to balance empathy with practical guidance, helping clients gain insight while also developing tangible tools for change. One of my strengths is my ability to quickly build rapport and create a strong therapeutic relationship. I am naturally curious about people's stories and enjoy helping clients identify patterns, connect the dots between past and present experiences, and uncover strengths they may not recognize in themselves. I bring a collaborative, down-to-earth style to therapy, blending reflection and exploration with concrete strategies that clients can apply in their daily lives. I am also deeply committed to creating a thoughtful and personalized experience. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work to understand each client's unique experiences, values, and goals so that therapy feels relevant, meaningful, and effective. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling supported, challenged in helpful ways, and empowered to move toward the life they want to create.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating life's transitions, whether that means starting college, entering a new career, becoming a parent, experiencing changes in relationships, or finding themselves at a crossroads they never expected. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable, and highly responsible individuals who are used to being the person others depend on. From the outside, they often appear successful and put together, but internally they may be struggling with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, self-doubt, or a sense that something no longer feels aligned. I am especially drawn to working with people who find themselves caught in repeating patterns—whether in relationships, work, or the way they relate to themselves. They may notice themselves overthinking, people-pleasing, prioritizing others' needs over their own, or feeling stuck between who they have been and who they want to become. Many are seeking not only symptom relief but also a deeper understanding of themselves and the experiences that have shaped them. My clients are often motivated, insightful, and open to self-reflection. They want more than quick fixes; they want meaningful and lasting change. Together, we explore the stories, beliefs, and patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building practical tools to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, authenticity, and self-compassion. My goal is to help clients create a life that feels more connected to their values, relationships, and sense of purpose—not just one that looks good from the outside.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

Adlerian therapy helps us look at the bigger picture of your life—not just what's wrong, but what's possible. I help clients explore recurring patterns, understand how past experiences have shaped their beliefs, and build the courage to make intentional changes moving forward.

Attachment-based

Ever wonder why you keep ending up in the same relationship dynamic or why certain situations hit harder than they should? Attachment-based therapy helps us understand how past experiences may be showing up in the present, so you can build healthier relationships and feel more secure in yourself.

Narrative

We all have internal stories about who we are, what we're capable of, and where we belong. Sometimes those stories get written by anxiety, perfectionism, past experiences, or other people's expectations. Narrative Therapy helps you challenge those old scripts and create a story that feels more authentic to you.
