New to Grow
Hello there! I’m Dr. Emily Rose Penna, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist passionate about helping individuals of all ages navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or work-related stress, I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can feel truly seen and supported. I believe in “doing the work” alongside my clients - leading with honesty, curiosity, and a deep commitment to healing. Together, we’ll explore what’s been bothering you, clarify your goals, and build a path toward meaningful growth. On a personal note, I am told that I am a warm, nature-loving clinical psychologist who proudly embraces her “hippie therapist” identity - I am often found happily roller-skating to 70’s music or crafting creative projects. I try to bring that same free-spirited, grounded energy into all of my work, inspiring others to reconnect with themselves, cultivate inner peace, and live in greater harmony with both their values, nature, and the planet.
Inside and outside the therapy room, I believe in “doing the work” alongside my clients - leading with honesty, sincere curiosity, and a deep commitment to both my own and my clients’ healing journeys. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel truly seen and understood, while gently empowering them to grow into their ideal selves. In your first therapy session, expect me to collect a brief background history focused on getting to know you better as well as to come up with some goals for yourself in therapy.
My approach blends intuitive, individualized care with scientifically grounded treatments (like CBT, CPT, DBT, and PE). In our first few sessions, I’ll take time to get to know you, understand your story, and co-create a plan that feels right for you. My goal is to foster a safe, welcoming environment where you can be happier and more like your ideal self! All approaches are tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and pace. Another thing you should know about me is that I am passionate about serving underserved communities, and a lot of my clinical experience includes working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, survivors of human trafficking, and those experiencing homelessness, with a strong focus on trauma-informed care.
I enjoy working with adults (ages 18 through older adulthood), offering intuitive and individualized care that is grounded in evidence-based therapy approaches. I am especially passionate about supporting diverse populations, including individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, creating a space that is affirming, inclusive, and deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience. My approach integrates well-researched methods to help clients better understand their thoughts, regulate emotions, and shift unhelpful patterns in a practical, compassionate, and empowering way.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I weave CBT into my work in a grounded, intuitive way - helping clients gently notice and challenge thought patterns while staying connected to their breath, body, and inner wisdom. Together, we reframe limiting beliefs like tending a garden, planting thoughts that feel more aligned, compassionate, and true. It’s structured and evidence-based, but always infused with presence, curiosity, and a little bit of soul.
