Hi! I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) based in Georgia. I received my Masters from the Valdosta State University and my DNP from Georgia College State University. I have been practicing for 8 years as a nurse practitioner. I help individuals who are struggling with the complexities of their life become the best versions of themselves. Interventions include psychotherapy, family session and medication management. Interventions are adjusted according to assessment findings.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. Initially, we will address the chief reason you are seeking care as well as historical information: medical problems, psychiatric history, family psychiatric history, substance abuse, social hx, mental status exam and goals you would like to set. After information is secured we will develop a plan of care to address the goals. Interventions are individualistic and created based on assessment findings. The session will take 45 or minutes to complete. A follow up appointment will be created prior to the end of the session to assess if interventions are being met. At any time you may terminate the meeting as I want you to feel comfortable and valuable during the session.
Having worked with individal of all age groups for the past 8 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I love working with clients who are 12 years and older. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about the complexities of their life. We will work together to formulate realistic goals and interventions to assist you in returning to wellness.
I am committed to Christian counseling because I am a Christian. Spiritual practices and Belief in the Lord Jesus foster hope and love, which causes one to return to wellness. Consequently, the session will address spiritual sadness and employ scriptures to foster joy in the soul. You can feel very free to discuss your beliefs. I care for individuals of multiple faiths, including pagans, witches, and spiritualists. The sessions are conducted in a caring, nonjudgmental, and empathetic fashion. Personally, I care for individuals from various faiths today. Some have been under my care for years because I am open to discussing their spiritual beliefs and practices.
Psychotherapy is vital in the course of treatment. Faith based therapy is very important during therapy session as it fosters holistic care. I will consider your whole being including faith and spiritual practices. research as redundantly shown individuals who employ spiritual practices return to wellness due to spiritual beliefs. I am open to employing your spiritual practices in our interventions. Moreover, communication and listening are very important in each session as they secure vital information in creating logical interventions. During the session, I will address distorted thoughts and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors to promote positive changes in emotions and actions. Family therapy will address relational issues and improve communication and functions within the family unit. Spiritual practices are important as they are effective coping skills. I am open to discussing your spiritual practices and spiritual well-being.
