Tiffany Garcia
Hi, I'm Tiffany! I'm a dedicated board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master of Science in Nursing from West Coast University. Fluent in English and Spanish. I'm passionate about mental health and devoted to providing the highest quality of service to each of the patients. I take time to understand each individual’s unique needs, experiences, and goals to provide personalized and compassionate care. My goal is to approach each patient with kindness, respect, and understanding so they feel valued and heard.
First session
Your first session is a safe, supportive space for us to get to know each other. We will talk about what brings you to treatment, your current concerns, symptoms, life experiences, and the goals you would like to achieve. I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions. Together, we will begin creating an individualized treatment plan that reflects your needs, preferences, and goals.
Strengths
During your first session, my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can share your story at your own pace. We’ll take time to discuss your current concerns, personal history, and goals for care so I can gain a clear understanding of your unique experiences and needs. I’ll also explain how the treatment process works, review your intake forms, and answer any questions you may have about medication options, therapy approaches, or lifestyle strategies. Together, we’ll begin developing a personalized care plan that aligns with your goals for emotional and mental wellness. You can expect compassion, collaboration, and a holistic approach that focuses not only on managing symptoms but also on helping you build resilience and achieve long-term well-being.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood changes, stress, or feeling overwhelmed by everyday life. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults who want to better understand themselves, improve emotional wellness, develop healthier coping skills, and feel more confident and in control of their lives. I welcome clients who are new to therapy and those who have received treatment before.
Treatment methods
Interpersonal
In my practice, I use Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to help patients understand how their relationships, life transitions, grief, and interpersonal conflicts may be contributing to symptoms of depression, anxiety, or emotional distress. I focus on identifying current relationship patterns and specific interpersonal stressors rather than concentrating only on past experiences. During sessions, I help patients improve communication, express emotions more effectively, set appropriate boundaries, strengthen their support systems, and develop healthier ways of managing conflict. I also use IPT when patients are adjusting to major life changes, experiencing loss, struggling with role transitions, or having difficulty maintaining relationships. The overall goal is to improve interpersonal functioning and reduce psychiatric symptoms by helping patients build more supportive and effective relationships in their daily lives.
