I have diverse clinical experience with different aged populations including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, in a variety of settings (juvenile justice day treatment centers, schools, community mental health, and home-based therapy). I have been serving clients experiencing conduct disorders, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and illness, and life transition/adjustment issues. My broad clinical training, combined with a nurturing and compassionate therapeutic style, have produced positive outcomes for my clients.
I believe that providing clients with a caring and safe space to explore their issues, where they feel supported, validated and understood, is a catalyst for positive change.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness approaches to help my clients achieve their goals.
One of my biggest strengths are my ability to empathize with others and really gaining an understanding of the issues they may be struggling with. I am a great listener, which increases the client's level of comfort and feeling supported throughout the counseling sessions. In the process, I help clients explore their strengths, which enable them to proceed with higher confidence as they work through the issues of concern.
