I have spent a great deal of time with adult clients that have experienced complex trauma and I've provided all levels of addiction treatment to adults across a variety of settings. I treat my clients with respect and autonomy, and feel the relationship is the most valuable part of treatment. This means I bring authenticity to the relationship as well as trust and safety. I believe in talk therapy, but I emphasize movement toward change and awakening so that clients can truly feel better. To accomplish this, I use bottom-up approaches that help clients reach deeper levels of insight. I gently walk them through integration of these insights so they can affect meaningful change in their lives and relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session I will gather a general idea of what brings you into therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. I'll be getting background information to make sure you will get the support you are looking for, and that we are the right fit. I will make space for questions about the therapeutic process and about my work, and inform you of your rights while in treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a variety of populations and issues, I have the ability to connect with nearly anyone while creating a safe and productive space to explore their life. I believe in my ability to deeply understand each of my clients which lends to an authentic relationship of compassion and honesty. When clients feel they can trust the relationship, I am able to bring the experience, knowledge, and skills to the room that help ignite the change process.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I utilize EMDR to help clients unearth the deeper core issues that create distress for them in the present. By using this modality, clients are able to gain deeper insight into their own emotions, beliefs, and behaviors while releasing some of the emotional pain and stuck-ness they've been holding onto. I then help clients process their insights and integrate them into their present lives.

Attachment-based

I work with clients through a trauma informed and attachment based lens. This means that I'm working to help clients understand how their childhood environment impacted them and how it shapes them today. Once clients begin to understand who they are, I help them implement new ways of thinking and overcome challenges they've long been wrestling with.
