Hi, I'm Sherman, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in psychology, having graduated from University at Albany (SUNY Albany) over 25 years ago. With a dedicated focus on anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD, and relationship issues, I have cultivated expertise in addressing a diverse range of mental health challenges with compassion and effectiveness. I have sincere appreciation and respect for the clients in which I support and assist.
I am a strong believer in therapeutic rapport, the alliance between the client and the therapist. The first session is when the foundation of that vital therapeutic relationship starts its development: from the mutual introduction of two relative strangers, questions regarding the psychotherapy process are patiently answered, a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment is completed and treatment goals are considered and formulated.
I believe my greatest strengths are my extensive experience treating a diverse treatment population, in addition to my treatment flexibility regarding the utilization of various treatment approaches, while also continuing to nurture the client/therapist relationship during all aspects and stages of the treatment process.
I believe I'm best positioned to serve any person seeking clinical support to address issues and concerns that are not allowing them to realize their potential and to operate as their authentic self.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Over the past two decades, my journey with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been transformative. Initially seeking CBT for managing anxiety, I discovered its efficacy in identifying and challenging negative thought patterns. Integrating techniques from other therapeutic modalities such as mindfulness-based practices and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), I found a holistic approach to addressing my mental health needs. Through CBT, I've cultivated coping strategies, honed emotional regulation skills, and fostered resilience. While navigating life's challenges, the blend of CBT with complementary therapies has provided me with a robust toolkit for self-care and personal growth, empowering me to lead a more fulfilling and balanced life.
