Welcome! I’m excited to partner with Grow Therapy to serve Kaiser Nor-Cal clients. I’ve worked in the mental health field for over 20 years in both clinical and administrative roles. Before opening my private practice in 2020, I spent 15 years as a Program Director/Manager for Children’s Wraparound Programs and Court-Involved Juvenile Justice Programs.

Before opening my private practice in 2020, I spent 15 years as a Program Director/Manager for Children’s Wraparound Programs and Court-Involved Juvenile Justice Programs.

My current practice focuses on working with motivated clients who are ready to address trauma history, anxiety, and codependency cycles. I specialize in trauma treatment and use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as a foundational intervention with most, if not all, of my clients.

First session

Our work together begins with an intake session, where we explore what brings you to therapy, your history, and your goals. This allows us to see if we’re a good fit and begin developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Over the first two sessions, we’ll complete a full assessment and finalize your plan, which remains flexible as your needs evolve. For new clients, weekly sessions are typically recommended for the first 4–6 months. For my Couples Program treatment will include a mix of individual and joint sessions. Throughout our work, we’ll regularly review your progress and decide together if you are in need of continued treatment, maintenance or graduation from services. Whether you are receiving Individual or Couples Therapy, I always invite breaks from therapy and continued support, even if you have achieved your initial treatment goals. It's normal to schedule a few sessions throughout the year when something comes-up and/or if you need a maintenance session. This is always optional and never required.

Strengths

I bring consistency, kindness, confidence, and experience to my work, along with the humility to say "I don’t know" when needed. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and rooted in real connection—I’m a person first, therapist second. I use humor, occasionally curse, and share personal experiences when it’s helpful. While your needs are always the priority, I show up authentically and model healthy emotional expression and regulation throughout our work together.

Ideal clients

I work with motivated clients seeking to reduce or eliminate symptoms of mental illness rooted in negative beliefs, trauma, and ineffective coping strategies. I use EMDR, an evidence-based approach proven highly effective both in person and virtually. As a directive therapist, I emphasize active participation, including homework and behavior change between sessions. If you're ready for proactive, results-oriented therapy and past approaches haven't worked for you, I may be a good fit. However, if you're looking solely to talk without making changes outside of sessions, my style may not meet your needs—and that’s okay too. Reach out for a free conversation if you're ready to get started. In addition to individual treatment to work on trauma, I have also created a unique Couples Therapy Program to address Codependency and Trauma Triggers that may be showing up in any relationship (Marital, Family, Friendships, Sibling Relationships, Poly-Amorous Relationships). This Program is a Cash-Only/Private Pay Program and is akin to a program with a set schedule and weekly focus (16-week treatment cycles with transition and maintenance cycles thereafter).

Treatment methods

EMDR

EMDRIA Trained and Certified EMDR Provider. Formally trained in EMDR for over a decade and EMDRIA Affiliated as of 2024. I utilize EMDR and EMD modalities to treat various trauma related symptoms, diagnoses and negative experiences that impact a client's self-view.

Somatic

In combination with EMDR, I provide a Somatic Experiencing intervention to address chronic pain often caused by stored trauma responses which may be creating impairments in a client's physical health. Somatic EMDR interventions are provided through Bilateral Stimulation and an EMDR specific protocol.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been trained and have utilized DBT since 2010 and find it most effective for client's who struggle with emotional regulation, mood variations, rejection and abandonment themes / childhood trauma. The most effective use of DBT is for client's to practice in session and utilize these techniques outside of session, when triggered and overwhelmed. There are great workbooks and card decks that clients can use outside of therapy sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a cornerstone and staple of talk therapy, is often used in conjunction with other therapeutic interventions such as EMDR, DBT and Exposure Therapies. I have been formally trained in Trauma Focused CBT and have been practicing TF-CBT for 20+ years.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems is another integral intervention approach that allows a client and therapist to understand symptoms, behaviors and patterns that may be driven by different parts of you that have not yet healed (ie; the 10 year-old version of you who experienced a trauma or scary experience). IFS is a standalone approach and is best implemented with EMDR and TF-CBT or Narrative Therapy interventions. I have been implementing this approach for the entirety of my career (20+ years). I am pursuing a formal certification in this intervention at this time, however, was trained in Graduate School by an IFS specialist.
