My name is Jazmine. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My passion is helping people take charge of their mental health and overall well-being. Life can be challenging, and whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, trauma, or just feeling overwhelmed, I’m here to support you every step of the way. I believe in a holistic, patient-centered approach to care—one that prioritizes your unique experiences, goals, and strengths. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take positive steps toward healing. Mental health care shouldn’t be intimidating or one-size-fits-all, so I work with you to find the best strategies and treatments tailored to your needs. Building a strong, trusting partnership with my patients is at the heart of my practice. I know that small steps can lead to big transformations, and I’m committed to walking alongside you on your journey to better mental health. I look forward to working with you and helping you build the tools and confidence to live a healthier, more balanced life!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

A typical session with me is structured, supportive, and centered on your goals. We start by checking in on how you’ve been doing—your mood, sleep, stress level, and any changes since our last appointment. I want to understand what’s working, what’s not, and what feels most important for us to focus on that day. From there, we explore your symptoms, experiences, and any challenges you’re facing. I’ll ask questions to help clarify patterns, triggers, and strengths. Depending on your needs, we may use evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, grounding exercises, or practical skill-building. If medication is part of your treatment plan, we’ll also review how it’s working and adjust as needed. Sessions often include psychoeducation—helping you understand your symptoms and giving you tools you can use outside of therapy to manage anxiety, improve mood, or stay organized and focused. Before we wrap up, we’ll summarize key points, discuss next steps, and set a small, realistic goal or skill to practice between sessions. My intention is for you to leave each appointment feeling supported, understood, and confident about your path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I consider my greatest strengths as a PMHNP to be my ability to build genuine therapeutic relationships and create a safe, nonjudgmental space for my patients. I approach each individual with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and curiosity, recognizing that every person’s mental health journey is unique. I listen actively and validate my patients’ experiences, which helps foster trust and openness. This connection allows me to better understand not only their symptoms but also the underlying factors affecting their well-being, enabling more accurate assessments and personalized care. I also take pride in my strong clinical reasoning and commitment to evidence-based practice. I am thorough in my assessments, thoughtful in my diagnostic process, and intentional when developing treatment plans that integrate both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. I stay up to date with current research and guidelines to ensure I am providing the highest standard of care. Additionally, I value collaboration—working closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support long-term stability and improved quality of life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready for change—not just thinking about it, but committed to taking action. They value quality, clear communication, and results. They understand that meaningful outcomes take time, collaboration, and trust in the process. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of the next step, but they’re open to guidance and willing to invest in getting it right. They are not looking for quick fixes—they’re looking for a thoughtful, strategic approach that actually works. If you’re someone who wants to move forward with clarity and confidence, we’ll work well together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Sometimes, we can get stuck in patterns of thinking that increase stress, anxiety, or self-doubt without even realizing it. Together, we’ll slow things down and gently explore those patterns, identifying what’s helpful and what may no longer be serving you. From there, we’ll work on building more balanced, supportive ways of thinking and responding, so you can feel more in control and confident in your day-to-day life. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s creating changes that feel realistic, meaningful, and sustainable.

Compassion Focused

It’s common to be much harder on ourselves than we are on others. Compassion-focused therapy helps you develop a more caring and understanding relationship with yourself, especially during moments of struggle. In our work together, we’ll explore ways to soften self-criticism, work through feelings of shame, and build a sense of inner safety. This approach can be especially helpful if you often feel “not good enough” or find it difficult to give yourself the same kindness you offer others. Over time, this can lead to greater emotional resilience, self-acceptance, and a deeper sense of calm.

Psychoeducation

I believe that understanding what’s happening in your mind and body can make a big difference in how you cope. That’s why I incorporate psychoeducation into our work together—sharing information about things like anxiety, stress, trauma responses, and emotional patterns in a way that feels clear and relatable. When you understand the “why” behind what you’re experiencing, it often becomes less overwhelming and more manageable. My goal is to help you feel informed, empowered, and better equipped with tools you can use outside of sessions as well.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This approach focuses on your strengths, your resilience, and what’s already working in your life. Instead of only looking at problems, we’ll spend time identifying your goals and what meaningful change would look like for you. Together, we’ll create small, practical steps that move you forward in a way that feels achievable. This approach can help build momentum, increase motivation, and remind you that change is possible—even in small ways. It’s about helping you move toward the life you want, one step at a time.

Supportive

At the core of everything I do is creating a space where you feel safe, accepted, and truly heard. Supportive therapy is about being able to talk openly without fear of judgment, to process what you’re going through, and to feel less alone in it. I’ll meet you with empathy, respect, and genuine care, while also helping you make sense of your experiences and emotions. Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or just need a place to land, this space is yours to move at your own pace, with support every step of the way.
