Therapy sessions with me integrate both insight-oriented and skills-based interventions. I facilitate clients to develop awareness of their own internal processes, and pattern in their behavior and thinking that maintains their challenges. In our first two sessions, the focus will be on helping you to clarify your ''why'', your '' what'' and your '' where''.
I am trained in different treatment models including Rationale emotive behavior therapy; Dialectic behavior therapy, Cognitive behavior therapy, Emotion-focused therapy. Our therapeutic work will not be locked up in one approach to therapy. I will select the most appropriate tools and frameworks, based on your '' What'' and your '' where''.
I have been working with adults and adolescents who experience concerns related to anger rumination, low frustration tolerance, addictive behaviors.
I have been utilizing CBT-based techniques to support patients in building insight into what maintains their symptoms and how they turn their pain from a past hurt or a work-related situation into long term suffering. Such understanding prepares them to disrupt the repetitive pattern of behavior and thoughts that increase stress and cause distress. I also utilize CBT-based interventions to assist patients in practicing new behaviors that align with their goals and increase joy and happiness.
Many of my patients come to see me at a time when they struggle to cope with what life throws at them, whether it is a break-up, job loss or financial hardship or parenting stress. I utilize DBT-based interventions to restore and strengthen their mental muscles.
