New to Grow
I’ve had the privilege of working across the lifespan—supporting children and families in child welfare, working with adolescents, adults and older adults in psychiatric care, and guiding older adults and those with intellectual disabilities through life’s transitions. I meet you where you are, whether you need space to build trust or a structured plan to move forward. Clients come to me because I have a broad base of experience. I draw on that understanding to help you navigate your unique situation, guiding you toward clarity, resilience, and meaningful change.
Initial therapy session focused on establishing rapport, gathering psychosocial history, identifying presenting concerns and exploring current symptoms and functional impairments. I provide a supportive, non judgemental environment to facilitate engagement and obtain information necessary for treatment planning and understanding symptoms, stressors and strengths.
My approach stands out because I bring nearly 30 years of experience across multiple levels of social work practice including direct clinical services, crisis intervention, hospital based behavioral health, child welfare leadership and program development. I combine evidence based therapeutic techniques with a practical, compassionate and person centered approach that recognizes each individual's unique experiences, strengths and challenges. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to understand how life experiences, relationships, trauma, loss health concerns and environmental stressors affect their current well being.
I enjoy working with people who are feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed or burdened by life experiences that continue to affect their emotional well being. Weather someone is coping with a recently loss, struggling with self esteem, adjusting to make life changes or seeking healthier ways to manage emotions and relationships. Clients who benefit most from my approach are those who value a compassionate, down to earth therapist who balances emotional support with practical problems solving and skill development.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify connections between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Together we explore thinking patterns that may contribute to anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationship difficulties or emotional distress. Clients learn to recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge inaccurate or overly negative beliefs and develop more balanced and realistic ways of viewing themselves and their situations.
