Lisa M. Coleman

22 years of experience

Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working in the mental and behavioral health field. It is my mission to support you in managing your mental health concerns in a solutions based approach through compassionate insight without bias or judgement. I serve clients ages 13 and up who are interested in investing in themselves, exploring their challenges and needs and taking a lead in their own care.

First session

In our first session, we will get to know one another and actively define our roles to better support your needs during upcoming sessions. We will acknowledge your areas of concern as they relate to seeking therapy and begin to establish a direction for treatment based on your priorities. We will also look to identify the "light at the end of the tunnel" so we are clear on what you would like to accomplish during your time in therapy.

Strengths

My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to listen without judgment, validate your feelings and support you in understanding yourself and the impact of your surroundings more and more. This is not about what I think or to tell you what to do; this is only to act as an facilitative agent to help you figure out what direction in life is best for you based on the revelations you make and the intentions you have to manage what is and is not healthy for you as you gather necessary tools to cope well and improve your mental health.

Ideal clients

I am looking to serve clients who are committed to self improvement through genuine effort and discourse. I am here to support and guide in an organized yet flexible manner based on your needs and goals.

Treatment methods

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a humanistic, evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, drawing primarily from attachment theory to facilitate the creation of secure, vibrant connection with self and others. Rooted in the science of emotions and attachment, EFT helps clients identify and transform the negative processing and interaction patterns that create distress. It’s effective in treating individuals (EFIT), couples (EFCT), and families (EFFT), addressing a wide range of issues from marital distress to individual anxiety and trauma.
