Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, you can expect a warm, conversational space where we begin getting to know each other and what brings you to therapy. This initial session also serves as an intake, where I’ll gather some background information about your history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. Together, we’ll explore what’s been feeling challenging, what you hope to gain from therapy, and whether my approach feels like a good fit for your needs. I’ll also share more about how I work and answer any questions you may have about the process. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this session is about beginning to build trust, safety, and a collaborative foundation for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Rebecca brings a wealth of experience and training that informs her approach to therapy and makes her work with clients both thorough and personalized. She has specialized training in clinical mental health and substance use assessment, allowing her to understand the full spectrum of mental health concerns and how they may intersect with substance use. Her background in clinical research adds a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, helping her integrate interventions that are both effective and tailored to each individual. Rebecca also has extensive experience treating patients within a 3.7 level of care for mental health and addiction, giving her insight into complex clinical presentations and the skills to support clients through challenging transitions. Her integrative therapeutic approach, blending psychodynamic–psychoanalytic frameworks with cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral techniques, allows her to meet clients where they are—addressing both underlying patterns and present-day challenges. This combination of clinical expertise, research-informed practice, and a flexible, integrative methodology helps her stand out as a therapist who can provide deep, individualized support while fostering lasting growth and resilience.

Psychodynamic

I use an integrative psychodynamic–psychoanalytic approach to help you understand the deeper layers of your inner world—how past experiences and unconscious thoughts, feelings, or memories may still influence your present life. Together, we gently uncover what may be hidden or repressed, making connections between past and present so you can gain insight and create lasting change. Therapy is a safe, judgment-free space where you are encouraged to openly explore your thoughts and emotions. Our work is rooted in a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, built over time, to support genuine self-discovery and healing.
