(she/her)
Hello! I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I am based in California. I strive to provide my clients with the best and most comprehensive care possible. As a PMHNP I am a patient advocate and recognize the interconnectedness of physical and mental health. I want to empower my patients to understand and treat their conditions with a holistic patient-center approach.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, mental health history, current symptoms, goals, current medications and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions and develop our next steps.
As a PMHNP I am able to provide comprehensive care within the psychological aspects of mental health as well as the social, physical and environmental factors that may affect your mental health in addition to prescribe medication; I am able to tailor my approach to meet your individual needs.
Young and older adults are within my wheelhouse! Anxiety and Depression disorders as well as those who has suffered with loss and troubled relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
During my initial assessment CBT is used to identify cognitive distortions and maladaptive behaviors contributing to a patient mental health issues. Educating patients about how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected can empower them to recognize and challenge negative thought patterns. Encouraging patients to engage in enjoyable or meaningful activities can help combat feelings of hopelessness and withdrawal, often seen in depression. Integrating mindfulness practices can help patients become more aware of their thoughts and feelings, reducing anxiety and improving emotional regulation. Regularly assessing patients’ thoughts and behaviors can help track progress and adjust treatment as needed
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
As a PMHNP I use EFT to help patients identify specific emotional challenges or trauma that may be contributing to their mental health issues. For patients with PTSD or trauma histories, EFT can facilitate the processing of traumatic memories in a gentler way, reducing emotional and physical distress associated with them. Teaching patients about EFT can empower them to take an active role in their emotional well-being, providing them with a practical tool to use in their daily lives.
Integrative
An integrative approach combining medication management with psychotherapy and complementary therapies can enhance the effectiveness of treatment for mental health conditions.

She is smart and helpful. I feel comfortable with her and makes our sessions safe and open. She makes me laugh with is unusual for a psychiatrist in my experience which for me, is truly helpful. She got me on the right meds and asked the right questions and ever since I started coming to her, I have seen incredible improvement in my mood and overall well being. I look forward to our sessions.
