My name is Jasmine Pena and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Modesto, California and working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I have been practicing for 8 years and have worked with adolescents and adults to focus on areas like depression, stress, anxiety and adhd using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and teaching social skills to help improve the functioning of my clients.
What you can expect from our first session is me asking open-ended questions to better understand and learn about the symptoms you have been experiencing and understand some of why you may be feeling that way. You can expect to explore and identify strengths and collaboratively set goals you would like to work on in therapy.
Having worked with adolescents and adult clients for 8 years, I'm able to understand and connect with my client's emotions which allows a safe and supportive environment.
I love to work with clients who are in need of tools to help manage their adhd whether it's time management skills or organizational skills. I love to help and support clients who are also experiencing stress, worry, and/or anxiety in their life and provide them with coping skills for how to manage their symptoms.
With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I help process and explore thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how they impact one another. I also use this approach to challenge negative thought patterns, explore new coping skills and ways to monitor and record thoughts during difficult situations.
