New to Grow
Hello, I'm Anita Comstock, a mental health therapist with a Master's degree, and 28 years of experience working in behavioral health. I have been a therapist for 19 years and truly enjoy watching people grow in therapy. I take a compassionate, holistic approach to therapy, creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions and life challenges.
The first session would be more of an intake session, gathering information and answering questions. The more information I have the better understanding I have of you as a person.
I believe my layman demeanor sets me apart. I don't speak in clinical terms which means my clients have a better understanding of the therapeutic process.
My work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, and Emotion Processing to help individuals better understand themselves and develop healthier ways of coping. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the emotional adjustments that can come with aging. I like to work with clients that have a desire to become a better version of themselves.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use several different modalities, but mostly CBT. I address cognitive distortions, use cognitive model, and focus on the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Compassion Focused
I utilize the 3 circles of emotional regulation , help client identify the self critic, learn self compassion, kindness and self love.
