New to Grow
I'm so glad you're here. I am Dr. Marckdaline St. Fort, LCSW and specialize in loss, human connection, and emotional healing. With two decades of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping men and women rediscover the power of their voices as they navigate the pain of abortion, miscarriage, loss of self, and conflict or loss within relationships and marriage. You, too, have that power within you. Having personally experienced the impact of loss and the beauty of healing, I understand how shame, guilt, and embarrassment can prevent individuals from recognizing their innate strength and capacity to overcome life’s most difficult moments. Through compassion, insight, and empowerment, I help others move toward healing, restoration, and renewed purpose.
In your first session with me, you can expect a supportive and welcoming environment where we will begin getting to know one another through the completion of your intake together. This conversation will help me gain a deeper understanding of your experiences, concerns, and goals for therapy.
As your therapist, I utilize a person-centered therapeutic approach because I believe healing and self-awareness are best fostered through collaboration, compassion, and genuine connection. Together, we will create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your healing journey. Additionally, as your therapist, I aim to be honest and transparent with my clients, as I believe it adds value to the therapeutic, yet deeply human experience.
I am best positioned to serve individuals, couples, families, adult men, and adult women willing to commit to the therapeutic process. This will require a willingness to become flexible in allowing current mindsets and perspectives to be challenged, explore childhood and familial history to provide a richer assessment of experience that will provide opportunities to shift mindsets, perspectives on who they were and who they desire to become.

Narrative
My experience with using Narrative Therapy as a treatment method began during my doctoral practicum years with the Marriage and Family Therapy program. Utilizing Narrative Therapy has allowed individuals I treat to reconsider their story and how they've become accustomed to telling, seeing, or believing it has layers and different perspectives. I have utilized Narrative Therapy with individuals facing symptoms of anxiety and depression related to the aftermath of abortion, the loss of their identity or sense of self, conflict within family system, loss of a relationship with family or loved one, etc. Today, I use Narrative Therapy to offer my clients a new perspective on how they’ve viewed their position, in relationship to the problem, and how they can manage new version of their lives built on hope, fortitude, and healing.
Family Therapy
Family Therapy and Family Systems were introduced to me while in the Marriage and Family Therapy doctoral program. My experience with Family Therapy includes working with teenagers, their parents, couples, and families. In my practice, I have used Family Therapy to offer clients and their families a more intimate view into their family system through use of a genogram, explore generational patterns causing a disruption in the current family system. From here, family members grow more equipped to face challenges as individuals and together, as a unit.
