Do you feel seen, heard and understood? I value the wisdom within each person; often a person doesn’t realize it within themselves. Life can feel demanding. Stress, grief, frustration, overwhelm, unrest can make it difficult to navigate day to day and larger life decisions. How is your internal world? Are you creating your life by the ways you perceive, react, respond? With over 20 years of experience as an LMFT, I incorporate mindfulness techniques, and cognitive/behavioral practices to support emotional regulation and more authentic choices.
From the very beginning, our sessions will include practical tools to regulate the nervous system and to shift unhelpful beliefs. As I get to know you better, I will support you in developing a deeper trust within yourself to make more authentic choices. A different relationship with the emotional world will allow for the ability to be more present. Presence allows for the recognition of relationship, thought and behavior patterns. Even a small change in a pattern creates room for new possibilities, goals and life choices.
Depending on the needs of the client, I integrate mindfulness practices, cognitive/behavioral techniques and body sensation awareness to facilitate greater awareness and choice.
Sometimes people don't recongnize their own talents, abilities and qualities. As I listen and ask questions, I am able to understand and reflect these qualities back to the client. As a result, people know themselves better. This new knowing allows for different self perceptions and expanded opportunity choices. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and parent/teen sessions.
Individuals with anxiety, grief, loss, life transitions. Adjustments in relationships including adoption, empty nest, divorce, marriage.
