New to Grow
I am a therapist who provides a supportive, client-centered space for individuals working through challenges such as anxiety, depression, and substance use concerns. My approach focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship while helping clients develop insight, emotional awareness, and practical coping skills they can apply in their daily lives. I use evidence-based talk therapy interventions to support personal growth, encourage meaningful change, and improve overall mental health and functioning.
Clients can expect their first session to focus on getting to know each other and beginning to build a comfortable, supportive therapeutic relationship. I will ask questions about their current concerns, personal history, and goals for therapy to better understand what brings them in and what they hope to achieve. The first session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions, learn about the therapy process, and share at their own pace—there is no pressure to disclose everything at once. Together, we will begin to identify initial goals and discuss how we might work collaboratively moving forward to support their growth and well-being.
My approach stands out because I adapt my therapeutic style to meet each client’s individual needs in the moment. There are times when I sit quietly and hold space, allowing clients to process their thoughts and emotions at their own pace without pressure or interruption. At other times, I may gently challenge clients in a supportive and respectful way to help them gain insight, recognize patterns, and consider new perspectives. This balance of presence, empathy, and thoughtful challenge helps create a therapeutic environment that is both safe and growth-oriented, encouraging meaningful change while honoring each client’s unique experience.
My ideal clients are adults ages 18–64 who are experiencing challenges related to anxiety, depression, or substance misuse that can be addressed through talk therapy and the development of healthy coping skills. I would work with individuals who are motivated to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a supportive therapeutic environment and who are open to personal growth and change. Through evidence-based interventions, collaborative goal setting, and skill-building strategies, I would help clients increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop practical coping tools to improve daily functioning and overall well-being.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my therapy practice, I would use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through a structured and collaborative process, I would support clients in recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging cognitive distortions, and developing more balanced and adaptive ways of thinking.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
In my therapy practice, I would use a person-centered approach by creating a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel accepted and understood. I would demonstrate congruence and genuineness by being authentic in the therapeutic relationship while maintaining unconditional positive regard for each client regardless of their experiences or behaviors.
Motivational Interviewing
In my therapy practice, I would use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and strengthen their motivation for change in a supportive and collaborative way. I would create a nonjudgmental environment that encourages clients to express their thoughts, feelings, and goals while recognizing their autonomy in the change process. Through techniques such as open-ended questions, reflective listening, affirmations, and summarizing, I would help clients identify ambivalence, build self-efficacy, and develop meaningful goals that align with their values and promote lasting behavioral change.
