I'm an artist and art therapist based in Philadelphia, PA. I've worked within the community mental health field for more than a decade, providing group and individual counseling and art therapy. As a therapist, I lead with kindness, compassion, and humor. I believe that connection is the foundation of healing. I feel passionately about the importance of community care and the deep, transformative potential of creative expression. I’ve personally experienced how art can be a tool for processing trauma and making sense of life’s challenges. I believe every person has a unique and valuable perspective to share, and that your voice matters. I also have an old cat who may make an appearance from time to time. I love connecting with nature, birding, hiking, and being outdoors. I enjoy baking, making art, dancing, collecting books I hope to read, and tea. I dabble in tarot cards, reiki, and playing music.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I would like for us to begin to get to know one another. I will share a bit about myself and what therapy with me can look like. I will ask you about what has brought you here and what your priorities are for our work together. Together, we will develop a plan to achieve your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As an artist, I bring a more creative and at times playful approach. I find it's important to connect with joy and humor. I'm always curious and seeking to expand my knowledge and understanding. I have faced my own struggles with depression and trauma over the years, and I have worked hard to understand and learn from them - which means I can better help you on your journey!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you're ready to take the first step toward healing, I invite you to connect with me. Together, we will explore new ways to embrace your creativity, build resilience, and foster lasting change.

Susan's profile and specialties focusing in grief, depression, and LGBTQ related issues were what caused me to select her. We didn't get too far into discussion because I had a lot of history to go through, but she was warm, receptive and seemed interested in my issues and motivated to helping me develop the tools to work through them. This is my first time working with a therapist in a very long time and I am looking forward to future sessions.
