Hi, welcome to therapy! For the past 28 years I’ve been a therapist. I believe that everyone has the potential to change and grow. If you’re feeling frustrated, depressed, anxious, or confused about your current situation, please know you’re not alone. I’m dedicated to empowering clients through a tailored, evidence-based approach to therapy that focuses on fostering client resilience. We can work together to identify the issues causing you stress and make a plan to meet your goals. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will introduce myself and give you a better understanding of how we can work together. I like to take advantage of the time, so we can get right into presenting any issues you're having and talk about some potential goals. If you feel comfortable after our session, you can always make another appointment. You can also take the time to process what we discussed and decide at a later time whether you feel comfortable talking to me about these things again. Feeling at ease is the most important aspect of therapy, and I highly encourage each client to make sure they feel comfortable before making a follow-up appointment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have extensive experience as a therapist, and I've combined that with my personal life experience to help me understand and identify with clients and the issues that people are trying to overcome. I've had experience with individuals, families, couples and teens. I've also had great success with all genders. I believe I'm a very flexible therapist. I think this puts many of my clients at ease, so we can usually work together when scheduling the time and frequency of our sessions.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

As a therapist, I feel my greatest strength is my ability to connect with clients. In my interactions, I strive to build authentic relationships by getting to know my clients and encouraging them to be real with me. I can do this because I'm a relatable person who understands that life can be tough, and I always approach conversations with my clients through this lens. The core of coaching is showing clients how to set goals, take action, and achieve tangible outcomes. My job is not to tell you what to do. Instead, I partner with you and provide the support and encouragement in order to implement sustainable change that you can maintain even after therapy is over.

My treatment methods

Positive Psychology

I've learned that many of our issues are related to negative thinking patterns. These negative patterns impact how we view the world, influence our reactions to different circumstances, and can even lead to depression and anxiety. By recognizing and changing those negative patterns, we can gain control of our thoughts and actions. Changing negative patterns is the key to success.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Psychological issues that arise are often related to unhelpful ways of thinking and learned patterns of behavior that keep you "stucK" in a negative thought process. People suffering from psychological issues can learn better ways of coping with them, thereby relieving their symptoms and becoming more effective, purposeful and insightful so that you can enjoy life.
