Hello, I'm glad you are here. You have a ton of therapists to sort through in your search for support! There is no one way, humans have unique needs. Here's how I can help... Do you feel easily triggered by people or events in your everyday life? Are you struggling to understand the root of intense emotions that emerge as a result? Ever wonder why you relate to people the way that you do? Is there a relationship in your life causing you discomfort? Would you like to know more about your inner world? My name is Regina Walsvig, CA Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). I received my M.S. in Counseling and a B.S. in Child & Adolescent Development--both from California State University, Fullerton. I see all ages using individual, couple, family, or group psychotherapy. I feel fortunate to be involved in conversations with people that generate their curiosity, depth of emotion, relief, and processing of uncharted territory. This therapeutic relationship offers new experiences that truly have the ability to harness one’s inner strength. I appreciate so much that therapy is a place that requires absolute authenticity from everyone involved— just you, as you are. No more, no less.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Sometimes we need to feel heard, a witness to our pain. Other times we need to know what to do to make it through the rest of the day after session. I tailor sessions to meet your needs--using a combination of depth-oriented exploration, alongside discussion to determine next steps in your process. **Please note: -After 4pm appointments are currently unavailable. -Couples counseling spaces are full. Contact me to be put on the waiting list. Regina.Walsvig@gmail.com

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize psychodynamic psychotherapy to engage clients in the therapy process. I incorporate expressive arts, sandtray therapy, meditation/mindfulness, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral techniques, and the Gottman method (couples). I have a holistic mindset that appreciates and respects the many complex parts that interact within each unique individual.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in working with parents who have children with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism and ADHD. I use a relational and developmental approach in addition to behavior therapy techniques. I offer parent support to navigate everything from practical hurdles to attuning with your child emotionally. Helping you achieve a balanced sense of well-being is my primary goal as a therapist. No matter what you might be concerned about that brings you to this search, I am interested in helping you gain, not only relief but also the tools needed for your future beyond therapy.
